On 23 March, 2023, around 80 people attended a webinar devised by the Health Information Week project group.
Getting involved in Health Information Week: why and how? was delivered by Dawn Grundy, Amy Bell-Worfell and Rayanne Byatt.
The learning outcomes for the course were for participants to be able to:
Explain the value of participating in Health Information Week
Develop and plan a local event for Health Information Week
Identify new ideas for events to take place in Health Information Week

Survey responses
After the event, a feedback survey was distributed. The following results were collected from 13 respondents:
The majority of attendees came from the North-West region followed by the Midlands.
The majority of attendees were Band 5 or Band 6. These equated to 50% of attendees at the session.
100% of attendees either strongly agreed or agreed the course met its stated objectives.
100% of attendees either strongly agreed or agreed that the course content was relevant to their job role.
100% of attendees either strongly agreed or agreed they were happy with the session.
In addition to the above survey responses, the following qualitative comments were received.
I found the event very useful. Lots of good ideas were shared and I found not to focus on doing something for everyday and perhaps pick one subject to focus on very useful.
I found the practical examples of what the presenters had done in their own library information weeks as well as a touch on the feedback from their events to be practical and useful in using similar methods to be used in our trust.
I found the whole session very useful. The presentation from Amy Bell-Worfell was especially useful as she held the last Health Information Week in public libraries so it was easy for me to relate to. The feedback from what they had learnt from the experience was very interesting as was the challenges they had faced, these will hopefully help with the planning of my event. Although I don't work in a hospital setting it was still useful to hear about Rayanne' experience of holding the event in a hospital setting. The webinar was well worth attending.
Can you share your HIW2023 learnings?
If you are participating in Health Information Week 2023, we would love you to consider delivering a session similar to Amy or Rayanne’s.
Amy and Rayanne have shared reflections on delivering a session at the webinar:
I really appreciated the opportunity to share reflections and some learning from my experiences of delivering activity for Health Information Week at the webinar. Being a part of the webinar helped me improve on my presentation skills, reflect on activity I had delivered as part of Health Information Week and it was a joy to work with Dawn and Rayanne putting the session together.

I was surprised, delighted and slightly overwhelmed to be invited to co-present at the Health Information Webinar back in January. Presenting for the first time at a national or HEE event was certainly a stretch for me but Dawn and Amy couldn’t have been more supportive. I learned so much from them both as well as how much is involved in planning and setting up a national event – much of which you take for granted as an attendee. It was rewarding to reflect back on our service’s previous HIW activities and hear about activities at Amy’s service. It has also been an opportunity to develop and reflect on my presentation skills. I’ve learned where I need to improve but taking part in the Health Information Webinar has been an invaluable and rewarding experience.

It's impressive how quality information, much like quality craftsmanship, provides reliability and comfort when people need it most. This focus on trustworthy resources reminds me how certain items become go-to staples through their consistent performance and dependable nature. There's a similar sense of assurance in well-made classics like the Lee Storm Rider Denim Jacket that offer both comfort and enduring style through every season.
I started One Day Dragon Tiger out of curiosity and ended up playing more than expected. The rounds are fast and keep the excitement going. I liked the intuitive layout that doesn’t require much learning. It’s also nice to hop into another game immediately. After a while, I played Ludo for a more relaxed pace.
