Here’s to a healthy, well-informed 2022!

We’re pleased to announce the themes for #HIW2022, Monday 4 July to Sunday 10 July:

  • Translated Patient Information (Monday, 4 July)

  • Long Covid (Tuesday, 5 July)

  • New book collection, title TBC (Wednesday, 6 July)

  • Kidney Health (Thursday, 7 July)

  • Media Literacy (Friday, 8 July)

  • Heart Healthy (Saturday, 9 July)

  • Arthritis (Sunday, 10 July)

As always, you can use any, all, or none of them – it’s up to you. We will be Tweeting on these themes as @Healthinfoweek and have provided lists of relevant resources at healthinfoweek.wixsite.com/healthinfoweek/resources

Check out our Health Information Week Ideas Bank for a wealth of things to do for #HIW2022. A few highlights include:

  • A short on time section: if you’re pushed for time, we have a list of quick and easy wins. For example, using your email signature to promote Health Information Week, or following @HealthInfoWeek on Twitter and retweeting our tweets.

  • A list of possible partners: if you’re not sure who to approach to work with on #HIW2022, have a look at this. Try PALS, Carers Support Groups or the Communications team in an NHS Trust; how about GPs, pharmacies or HealthWatch as local partners; and public libraries, local authority advice centres and local charities are also excellent allies.

  • Virtual displays: if face-to-face, physical displays aren’t possible, have a think about what you can do online or digitally. Tips include utilising social media, adding slides to public TV PowerPoint displays, or even making a short video or podcast for your website.

  • Events, training and activities ideas: you can be really creative with this, but our list includes holding a walking or healthy eating challenge; set up an online reading group; run a Living Library; or even run some health-related games (have a look at Focus Games for NHS staff).

  • How to keep it fun: here are some ideas to draw a crowd and entertain! Name that fruit & veg; guess the weight of the cabbage; drawing and colouring in for kids (and grown-ups!); word searches and competitions.

Don’t forget to have a look here for resources, including branding, fonts, logos, empty belly posters, and more!
