Quick things to do for Health Information Week (#HIW2021)

This year, #HIW2021 runs from Monday 5 to Sunday 11 July. You may have already planned some activities for your organisation to run, but don’t worry if you haven’t! Here’s some quick and easy things you can do to suit your staffing levels, time or resources:

  • Use your email signature to promote Health Information Week. If your email provider allows pictures, and if you have time, include the HIW logo.

  • If you have a Twitter account, follow @HealthInfoWeek on Twitter and retweet.

  • Direct people to the information for the public on the Health Information Week website at healthinfoweek.wixsite.com/healthinfoweek/public-information.

  • Focus on promoting any of your regular, ongoing activities, resources, or events which have a health impact. These might include your wellbeing collection, health information leaflets or training.

  • See if your organisation is running any conferences, study days or open day events that coincide with #HIW2021 that you could join.

If you have a bit more time to plan, why not take a look at the Ideas Bank? It includes ideas from previous years as well as new ideas and activities that you can try. There are also tips for collaborating with other teams both within and outside your organisation, or some fun ideas for drawing a crowd, like games and challenges!

Whatever you’re planning, make sure you comply with your organisation’s COVID-19 policies as well as any local or national guidance. If you’re working remotely, there are still many virtual ideas you can do, like scheduling social media posts or creating an e-newsletter.

If you have other ideas, please let us know – other people may find them really useful too. Email us on Healthinfoweek@gmail.com or Tweet us on @HealthInfoWeek.
